The Richards Building Has a Front-Row Seat to Dover’s Celebrations
Dover knows how to celebrate! And if the walls of the Richards Building could talk, they’d have plenty of stories to tell.
For decades, Blackwell Street has been the place to gather for parades, festivities, and community gatherings. And the Richards Building has been right there through it all, serving as a backdrop for so many of Dover’s celebrations.
Last weekend was another reminder that while the times (and the parades!) may change, the community spirit that makes Dover special is still going strong. With the celebration of 100 years since the passing of Harry Houdini, the people of Dover came out in droves to enjoy a live techno performance, an open mic, face painting and lots of dancing (with most people in costumes!).
Right there in the background, the lights of the Richards Building were shining bright.

While a lot has changed about the Richards Building (especially recently!), we’re proud to be part of Blackwell Street’s story — and we can’t wait to see what the next celebration brings!
