Step inside the Richards Building and discover benches made from the original support beams of this 19th-century building—carefully crafted, full of character, and ready for their next chapter (with you on them).
Right in our main floor lobby, you’ll find a handcrafted bench that’s more than just a place to sit—it’s a piece of the building’s past. Made from original floor joists salvaged from the Richards Building Marketplace and paired with industrial-style metal piping, this freestanding bench blends history and design in the most functional way.

You’ll also spot two matching wall-mounted benches on the second and third floors near the elevators—perfect spots to pause and take in the space. All three benches were custom-built by the talented team at Home Group LLC out of Mt. Arlington, NJ, who helped bring this creative vision to life.

And while you’re on the main floor, look up! Above the bench hangs a large 1903 map of Dover, NJ. It’s a snapshot of our town from over 120 years ago—and yes, you can even spot the Richards Building on it.
Come by, take a seat, and take it all in!
