On April 11th, the Amp held their first gallery opening and public event to celebrate the official opening of the "Clay Cavern," The Amp's ceramics studio. Over 200 people came out to celebrate local artists who provided 115+ pieces of art. Musicians, ceramicists, painters and more were in attendance and it was truly a community gathering of students, artists, art appreciators, journalists, politicians - you name it!
Walter Rodriguez, the Executive Director of the Amp, shared his enthusiasm about the event and what's ahead: "Things are getting busy at The Amp! We had our first gallery opening on April 11th and more than 200 of you came through to see the space and the artwork created by local artists. We've also launched our ceramics classes and some wonderful workshops coming up this weekend where you can make unique gifts for your mom! We'll also be hosting our first film screening this Friday in partnership with Atlantic Health and Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs so follow us on social media (@theamparts) and check out our website:
theamparts.com so you don't miss a thing!"
Kaylee Gernant, the Director of Ceramics at the Amp, curated her first show with spectacular results. There was live acoustic music, food and bev, and lots of great conversation. Stay tuned for many more FREE events at the Amp!
