What's going on now?

No, we are not installing a small addition. It also is not some type of modern art.

A strange steel structure emerges from the facade of the Richards Building

Richards Building blog enthusiasts may remember an update we posted way back in in late May about a faulty facade column that was exposed during our renovation. (See original post here.)

This new steel structure we've built, as elaborate as it may seem, is only a temporary "shoring" structure that will support the external wall of the building while we do the work to repair the faulty column. Once complete, the shoring structure will be removed.

There's never a dull moment when you are restoring a 140-year-old building, but we are excited to see the finished product. Over the next few months, we are expecting some rapid progress so stay tuned for updates!
